ACEC/MA TALC July Monthly Meeting

Description

Monthly Meeting of ACEC/MA Transportation Agencies Liaison Committee (TALC) This meeting will be held in person at Jacobs and on Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to all ACEC/MA TALC participants closer to the meeting. 

This month's program will feature:

  • Sam Zhou, Assistant General Manager & Chief Engineer, MBTA, presenting on the MBTA's FY2027-2031 Capital Investment Plan (CIP).
  • Stephanie Groll, Assistant Commissioner for Transportation Planning, City of Cambridge, discussing the City's approach to micromobility policy development and implementation.
  • Kris Carter, Co-leader of The Lab @ MassDOT, providing an update on the Special Commission on Micromobility's recommendations and the proposed Ride Safe Act, including updated vehicle classifications, safety initiatives, and the policy considerations shaping the future of micromobility in Massachusetts.

Thank you to Jacobs for hosting and providing lunch for in person attendees.

NB: In-person attendance for the July 29 TALC meeting is limited to 2 people per ACEC/MA Member firm. Within your firm, please coordinate who should attend in person in advance before anyone signs up to attend in person. In-person attendance is limited to 50 attendees and registration will close on Thursday, July 24, or when capacity is reached, whichever comes first. 

Jacobs employees interested in attending should NOT register but coordinate through Dieckmann Cogill.

The ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Competition recognizes engineering achievements that demonstrate the highest degree of merit and ingenuity.

Join us for the Academy Awards of the Engineering Industry as we celebrate the year’s outstanding engineering achievements. Hear about the best projects of the year and help us honor the firms and clients that created them.

If your firm is planning to submit a project for the FY2027 Engineering Excellence Awards, we will provide this information in September 2026.

Submissions for FY2026 are closed.

Member Briefings

Building a Better Business Programs

ACEC/Massachusetts is offering members the opportunity to present a business program at an ACEC/MA. These meetings may be held in conjunction with our Membership Meetings. Note: these programs MUST be educational in nature – no sales pitches.

Final selection for programs will be made by the Program Committee. Proposals will be considered in the order they are received. ACEC/Massachusetts guarantee attendance.

To submit your program for consideration, download the RFP form (to be posted soon) and email completed form to ACEC/MA.

Building a Better Business Webinars

ACEC/Massachusetts offers periodic, non-PDH webinars on timely and relevant business topics for engineering professionals.

Business webinars should be no more than  hour and should provide information relevant to our membership (no sales pitches). These webinars does NOT qualify for PDH credit. However, it may meet requirements for other professional development programs. Check with the administrator of your professional program for more information.
